The evolution continues...here, I built another storage bed, but corrected a problem I recognized the last time I built this bed and sold it with a set of night stands. Namely, if the night stands are next to the bed, you can't open the rear drawer. So here the night stands rest on one leg, placed just behind the rear-most drawer guide, thus allowing the drawer to slide right under the night stand. My friend Nate came up with the shape of the leg (thanks Nate!). Ryan took the pictures (there's a link to his site somewhere down the page here.
Pete, I love checking out the stuff you build and post on here, brother. I've seen Eric's wall/shelves multiple times and I'm always so amazed at how well they turned out both aesthetically and practically. The design of these nightstands is pretty bitchen'.
I like the nightstands a bunch. I think I side with Jana in that I would like the open space rather then the drawers. Stuff looks great though. I like to see the evolution of this bed. Change it again!
This blog is dedicated to showcasing the furniture design and construction of yours truly, Peter Deeble. I build furniture in my garage-turned-studio in Long Beach, California.
I began building things with my dad as a kid, fashioning my own cases for records and instruments and other such wares. I also built countless skateboarding ramps with my friends. As long as I can remember I've had a proclivity for inventing and creating things, and as such woodworking has always been a natural outlet for that. A few years ago my attention turned to furniture as my passion for carpentry deepened.
My aesthetic tends towards modern and minimal, mid century modern, Danish modern, etc. and usually involves solid hardwood such as walnut, cherry, maple, rosewood etc. You can contact me at deeblep (at) hotmail.com and you can also follow me on instagram @petedeeble. is this a project or do you make custom furniture?

Thanks Elijah, I really appreciate that. I'm glad you're digging on the night stands, I took a bit of a gamble on that. Good luck with the new blog!
